Immediately after the game I knew this would be a national issue. Officiating in this day and age is getting worse and worse. I'm not asking for anyone to be fired. But when ESPN decides to set aside close to 8 minutes of air time to discuss the explanation of the penalty with David Perry the National Coordinator for College Football Officiating on ESPN's College Gameday, it's obvious that it's just not us Dawg fans that feel this is a wrong turn for college football. What's worse is that Perry's explanation of the enforcement of the penalty is more of the "CYA" answers that you'd expect of someone in that position. My guess is that Perry probably watches little to no colege football at all.
Yesterday morning, Don Borst wrote a special on FoxSports.com in which he responds to the penalty and has received over 421 comments thus far.
So there it is, watch the video, read the article, and join the conversation.
